NMC Fitness to Practice Hearing for McKee – Update …..

Our daughter, Sally, aged 22 years, died seven years ago as a result of clinical negligence and neglect by Humber NHS Foundation Trust. Six years ago, following an 8 day Article 2 inquest, two of the nurses from the Crisis Service, who were responsible for the final “assessment” of Sally and who refused to admit her to hospital when in acute distress, contrary to her care plan, were referred to the NMC.

The Fitness to Practice hearing involving McKee, held live at the Stratford Hearing Centre, London, and accessible by video link, commenced on 18 October 2021 and was originally scheduled to end on 27 October 2021. However, further days were needed to complete the hearing and it was stalled, part-heard. The panel has heard evidence from three nurses, one police officer and two expert witnesses. Written evidence totals approximately 1400 pages. McKee disengaged from the investigation in 2015 and is neither present nor represented.

The resumed hearing, scheduled for three further days, has now been confirmed for 5, 6, & 7 January 2022.
