Dates confirmed for High Court and NMC Fitness to Practice Hearings ……..

Approaching six years since Sally’s inquest and two years since we approached the Coroner regarding a s.13 application under the Coroners Act 1988 concerning the quashing of the original inquest and a re-inquest, we finally have a hearing date in the High Court scheduled for Wednesday 1 December 2021.

Six years ago, post inquest, with a narrative verdict citing clinical negligence & neglect by Humber NHS Foundation Trust, we reported two nurses working in the Crisis Service to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). These two nurses were responsible for the final “assessment” of Sally when in acute distress and it was as a direct consequence of their decision-making and actions that Sally was sent home alone and died two hours later.

The Fitness to Practice Hearing for Patrick McKee, the senior of the two nurses, is scheduled to take place over eight days, 18 – 27 October 2021.
